Waterway Project at Jl DI Panjaitan Hampered by Traffic

The planned work of a waterway on Jl DI Panjaitan, precisely in front of Wika Building, East Jakarta encountered obstacles. Dense traffic has led to severe traffic jam when the project runs. 

The impact is, if the waterway is made, it will cause severe traffic jam

"The matter is we have to coordinate with the traffic. Because there is no a protocol lane. The impact is, if the waterway is made, it will cause severe traffic jam," said Yoserizal, Section Head of Maintenance for East Jakarta Water Management Sub-dept, Wednesday (9/28).

According to him, to overcome puddle under Cawang Flyover, there must be waterway. Its length must be 100 meters and width three meters towards Cipinang River. Yet the lane that passed is protocol lane that always crowded every time.

Waterway Development in Kelapa Dua Starts

The waterway is able to overcome puddle in residential at Jl Penegak and Penggalang. Palmerah.

"For waterway on Jl DI Panjaitan, surely must be careful. We have to coordinate with the police and Transportation Dept to discuss about traffic diversion," he told.

Another obstacle is a pipe belongs to PDAM Jaya seen transversely under way. The pipe's water flows from Buaran towards Kalideres.
